Colombia • Norbey Quimbayo Pink Bourbon - Aerobic Honey
We're so excited to highlight another phenomenal Colombian coffee from an excellent producer, Norbey Quimbayo, who owns La Esmeralda, a coffee farm located in the Acevedo district in Huila, Colombia. In 2005, he gained possession of 12 hectares of land and dedicated 5 hectares to coffee growing, but it wasn’t until 5 years later when business began to boom after he planted a number high-end specialty varietals such as Tabi, Pink Bourbon, Geisha, Papayo, and more. Norbey has become more widely known for his work as it’s advanced and sold his coffee to phenomenal roasters worldwide, seeing the fruits of producing a truly artisan product to provide for his wife and kids as well as the folks who work at La Esmeralda.
Our friends Felipe and María, the owners of Ventola Coffee, work closely with Norbey and sent us samples of this crop before its harvest had fully finished because of how much they loved it. Thanks to you guys buying good coffee from us, it makes us more capable of buying good coffee for you guys, which incentivizes more and more producers to produce good coffee, just like Norbey in 2010. We hope you enjoy this incredibly clean and sweet Pink Bourbon varietal that was intentionally fermented and beautifully processed by Norbey.
